All of us have heard about the 7 wonders of ancient world but we have not seen them all. Actually only one of them is surviving today, that is Pyramid of Gija. In 2000, a swiss society known as New7Wonders started a campaign to identify the new 7 wornders of modern world. Initially after setting qualifying criteria and based on popular vote 77 wonders were identified. Later this list was shortened to 21 by an architectural panel.
Now the final 7 wonders will be decided based on public vote. TajMahal is one and only one from India in this list. Please vote for TajMahal and show your love for your cultural heritage and national esteem.

Indian Professor awarded with Abel prize
Indian professor Srinivasa S. R. Varadhan was awarded with Abel prize for 2007 for his work on "theory of probability". Abel prize is aslo known as Nobel prize for Mathematics. The Abel Prize, awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters for outstanding scientific work in the field of mathematics, carries a cash award of approx 1 million USD. Professor Varshan is currently working at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York. The Abel prize was founded in 2002 by Norvegian goverment in memory of 19th century great mathematician Henrik Abel.
